Co-opted GovernorEmily Brown

Term of Office: 14/12/16 - Present

Why am I a governor?

Before taking a career break to raise my own family I was a secondary school teacher for 16 years, 12 of them in local schools including 8 at George Spencer. I started out as a teacher of French and went on to also become involved in teacher training before moving on to a senior leadership role in the city. I loved educating 11-19 year olds and I now feel very privileged to be experiencing the learning journeys of children aged 0-11yrs, this time from the perspective of a parent.

I wanted to take on a more active role and felt my experiences to date would enable me to be an effective governor. I felt that I could help challenge and support Chetwynd Primary Academy in achieving its ambitions for the benefit of all of our children.

Getting to know Emily

I am a full-time stay at home mum of two. My eldest started in Puffins in Sept 2016. We enjoy being part of the Chetwynd family of staff, children, parents and carers and we are very pleased that we are members of this school’s community.
